Resumen

Erwinia amylovora is a quarantined bacterium in many countries included Mexico, the problem associated to antimicrobial resistance has generated the search for new methods control. Metallic nanoparticles (NPs) are an option for the control of phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria, they have low toxicity for cells that are not constantly dividing, and they have a broad spectrum of action. In this study, the cell viability of E. amylovora, was evaluated in an in vitro test to three antimicrobial agents, silver nanoparticles (AgNp’s 200 mg / ml), CuSO4 5 H2O (COMET ® 200 mg / ml) and Gentamicin + oxytetraciclin (Agrygent plus 5000 ® 200 mg / ml). The bacterial concentration was (5 x 107 CFU / ml). Cell viability was determined by the trypan blue exclusion method by spectrophotometry 600 O.D. The effectiveness of AgNp’s to inhibit biofilm formation was evaluated by the crystal violet method and measured by spectrophotometry at 600 O.D. in the same treatments. The results indicate that AgNp’s at 200 ppm show an inhibitory effect for E. amylovora, reducing cell viability by 64.8%. The smallest Area Under Curve was limited by the treatment with silver nanoparticles. Biofilm formation of E. amylovora was inhibited in samples treated with AgNp’s by 96.06%
