Resumen

The study of mergers and acquisitions of companies is a topic that is frequent in economic and financial analysis around various aspects that the world has had to face. These antecedents led to the approach of the research problem that at present there is no empirical evidence that affirms that these assets are positive evaluations to achieve the success of a merger. The analysis of the factors that influence success in mergers and acquisitions and their impact on the achievement of synergies to create economic value added to investors and perdurability in these companies was the fundamental objective of this thesis. The approach was mixed, quantitative because a questionnaire was developed and applied to collect the data and qualitative because the interviews were used to complement the information, which includes the values of financial and intangible assets under the analysis called "Due Diligence" whose main factors they are of a financial nature, operations, marketing and human resources. The work was developed with an exposition of the existing theories in mergers, the applied methods and the recommended factors can be analyzed in each process that is carried out. The application of the methodology concluded that it is recommended to incorporate these assets into the study carried out with a high degree of acceptance by the main executives of companies participating in this type of process, according to a population of the companies in Mexico that have had some process of this type and to know how to incorporate the best practices to achieve a continuity in the process of optimizing the economic value added of the merged companies.
