Resumen

It was located by using immunofluorescence μ opioid receptor in the equine sperm comparing its location in high and low sperm motility. We worked with four stallions in Quarter Horse race with an age of 6-8 years with a weight of 600 kg. Semen ejaculates was assessed and two of these motility considered low (< 50 %) and two high (70 % to 90 %) were classified. Further, the concentration (C), volume (V), testicular volume (TT), motility (M) and presence of fluorescence head (FC) and head and tail (FCC) was determined. The semen is washed with Percoll and began with the protocol standardized immunofluorescence (primary antibody Rabbit anti-μ (mu) opioid receptor polyclonal) and (secondary antibody goat anti-rabbit IgG (H + L) conjugated fluorescein). Fisher's exact test was used through the FREQ procedure of SAS. Sperm motility showed high fluorescence in the head with the acrosome decreased in half of the sperm tail and disappeared. The low motility (< 50 %) had sperm fluorescence throughout. Moreover, the latter showed abnormalities and porous appearance. The bright color is appreciated in line at the low motility. There was a difference in the location of the μ opioid receptor between high and low sperm motility. In conclusion there was difference in location μ opioid receptor in sperm collected from stallions of high and low motility.
