Resumen

Abstract Chihuahua City has a favorable and sustained projected growth on the Aerospace Industry. Due to the area of opportunity regarding this industry, the overall objective of this work was to determine the Academic and Social Relevance of the educational offer from the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua. The technique for data collection and analysis was: the qualitative analysis of the information through instruments of Survey and Interview, which resulted in: a) Study of Detection of Training Needs through Excel Matrices; B) Follow-up studies through 360 degree evaluation, of different perceptions from: teachers, managers, graduates, students, and employers. The population considered in the study was the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua and Aerospace Industry of the city of Chihuahua. The type of sampling was: Probabilistic type, 95% Confidence level, and z = 1.96, p = 50%, q = 50%, e = 5%. Sample size was determined according to the databases generated by the school records and the sample size was different for each interest group. The materials and equipment used were: computer equipment, Moodle platform, Word, Excel, Acrobat, PowerPoint, SPSS version 17. As main results in determining the Academic and Social Relevance of the educational offer of the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, several areas of opportunity were found, since the Aerospace Industry requires more dynamic and more aggressive updates. Both the Academic Relevance and Social Relevance were found acceptable in general terms. One of the main points to be reviewed is the lack of connection between the educational institution in question (Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua), as well as the information provided by COVAP, INDEX and the Aerospace Board.
