Resumen

The present work sample the results obtained from the application of the HDM-4 software to simulate the pavement life cycle performance in a section of 7.17km of the Ramon G. Bonfil Boulevard in Pachuca de Soto Municipality throughout the 2016 year. This section was divided in homogeneous segments for their analysis on the basis of their physical characteristics (IRI, TDPA, deflection, depth of ruts), this information being loaded in the system HDM-4 together with different alternatives of conservation (reconstruction, milling and reinstatement, routine conservation and without any conservation activity) to be able to decide on the most suitable about conservation and monetary terms. Based on the software results, the costs of milling and reinstatement throughout the time they are equivalent to the intervention of reconstruction, the only difference lies on the amounts corresponding to the initial investment, being more economical the initial investment for the case of milling and reinstatement. We can conclude that the HDM-4 generates relevant information (the road performance and flow costs –benefits meanly) that must be analyzed and arranged with the experience since though the software is reliable there can be situations in which the most profitable option is not feasible in the practice.
