Resumen

The emissions of methane and carbon dioxide gases favor the greenhouse effect and contribute negatively to the phenomenon of global change. Methane is considered one of the main greenhouse gases (GHG) that lacks the opportunity to re-enter a biogeochemical cycle, its presence in the atmosphere and has been reported with significant increases that reach high concentrations. In recent years the methane emission from the digestive process of ruminants has been studied and has aroused serious criticism from specialists. This research proposes the use of a particulate material with the capacity to capture methane gas in in vitro digestibility experiments. Onions, clays and other ceramics are feasible to be applied and added as an additive to the ruminant diet because they are inert and nontoxic, for this reason they are considered as an alternative for the adsorption of methane and decrease the release of this environment gas The results are particularly favorable for clays and zeolites (M3C5, ñachica, teguas, zeolite 1 and zeolite 2) which were shown to adsorb GHG in the "gas production"
