Resumen

Due to recent seismicity in the State of Chihuahua, there is a need to think over an analysis of the standards used for the design and construction of buildings. After a detailed review of all large infrastructure (such as buildings, hospitals and dams) in order to implement contingency plans for potentially dangerous seismic events through evacuation practices in schools to raise public awareness. This work shows the development of a device designed and developed in the city of Chihuahua, with which it is possible to register seismic movements and prevent the population as early as possible, as well as to kick off the research by understanding the effects of accelerations on buildings. Also, tests carried out by Advanced Materials Research Center (CIMAV) demonstrated that using Euler's angles to obtain the vibrational intensities on the main axes to the tangential plane with a northward direction, it is possible to use MEMS accelerometers to Model these intensities on the main axes using the device angles. With an optimum sensitivity of ± 2g and at a resolution of 40Hz, we have verified that we can perfectly capture earthquakes magnitude 3 on, on the Richter scale at short distances.
