Resumen

A neural network used as the instrument established to determine the trajectory of a student, taking as input some results of a Multidimensional Psychometric Test (MPT) and admission academic information, has a minimum effectiveness of 85%. After the statistical analysis of the results of the MPT for the determination of those psychological factors, personality and competences with lower values, which represents a greater negative impact on their performance and school situation, together with academic income information integrated by the results of the students' entrance evaluation and their average in the highschool level, it was possible to design a back propagation neural network which, when trained and tested with these data as input and the student's trajectory as a target, showed an effectiveness of 97.8%; so it is possible to use it as a predictive mechanism for new inputs allowing early detection of situations of risk of dropout or school delay and take preventive measures while allowing to know those intellectual and mental characteristics and skills, academics map and competences, learning styles and mental programming of students in which the University must pay attention to a better development of the student.
