Resumen

This research proposes a model to measure the relevance of doctoral theses, as well as their impact once a period similar to that required to obtain the degree has passed, for which the model was applied in two postgraduate programs: one of the hard sciences belonging to the National Program of Postgraduate of Quality (PNPC) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and another in the area of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences (Education) without belonging to the PNPC, whose purpose was to verify if the quality conditions in The development of the doctoral thesis reflects the definition of the trajectory in the training of researchers in four dimensions: (i) internal consistency; (ii) impact of the knowledge object in the generation of knowledge; (iii) impact of the object of knowledge on the subject (thesis); and (iv) collective impact of the knowledge object. The methodology used was mixed, applying a non-experimental research design, exploratory Transeccional type, collecting the information through the documentary analysis, complementing the additional information through a type of instrument type questionnaire in 15 theses of each of the programs of PhD in study, independently analyzing the dimensions of the model and subsequently jointly, obtaining as main findings a complete absence of consistency in positive results in each of the evaluated dimensions, observing positive results mainly in the internal consistency of the knowledge object and a marked wear in the three remaining dimensions, with which it is concluded that the quality of the knowledge object (thesis) guarantees adequate results in the subsequent performance of the researcher.
