Resumen
The rescue of the genetic resource of Pinus arizonica, P. durangensis and P. engelmannii in Chihuahua’s forests, has to start you recovery with outstanding genetic material and for this it is fundamental to know the variability of the resource in existence. The objective of this study was to evaluate the morphological and genetic variability of these species of pine trees. The forest was divided into north, center and south areas, 20 trees of each species and zone were sampled. DNA extraction (Qiagen® kit) and AFLP (IRDye® Fluorescent AFLP Kit) analysis were performed. The data were analyzed with SAGA® Software. The matrix of genetic similarity was obtained with Nei and Li Index. Software FreeTree®, UPGMA was used. The first three principal components explain the 97.94, 97.45 y 93.80 % of the total variation observed in Pinus durangensis, P. engelmannii y P. arizonica respectively. The most contributing variable in the CP1 in the three species was the terrain altitude and the tree’s height. The AFLP analysis in the three species detected 132 bands; 47 polymorphic and 85 monomorphic. The highest percentage of polymorphism (53.2%) and polymorphic bands (25) was obtained with the combination of primers MseI + CAC, EcoRI + ACC_700. When considering the three pine species, similarity values were obtained from 0.914 to 1.0. The genetic resource of Pinus engelmannii, P. arizonica y P. duranguensis, presented morphological and molecular variability
