Resumen
To assess the effects of probiotic C. norvegensis on in situ digestibility of dry matter (DISMS) and the development of sheep were carried out two experiments. The first was to measure the effect of the yeast C. norvegensis on DISMS and content of ammonia and lactic acid in the rumen of cows fistulated ruminally and fed a basal diet of alfalfa and corn stover (50:50) for two periods: in experiment 1, cows received the ration without C. norvegensis (T1) and 2, supplemented with 15 mL / kg of body weight (BW) of probiotic (T2). A switchback experimental design was used. So the potential degradability (p) and the effective ruminal degradation (ERD) of neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and fiber detergent fiber (ADF) was higher in T2 while the crude protein (CP) was higher in T1 (P ≤ 0.05). In experiment two, a productive perfomance was carried out with 32 growing lambs, fed four diets (concentrate: roughage): T1 = 75%: 25%, T2 = 50: 50, T3 = 25: 75 and T4 = 75: 25. Except for T1, the rest were inoculated with the probiotic in food (15 ml / kg BW). An experimental randomized block design was used. Animals were weighed every 15 d for 105 d. The average daily gain (ADG) was higher in T4 hich also has the lowest value of CA (P ≤ 0.05). In the dry matter intake (DMI) T1 and T4 were the most prominent and showed no difference. Thus the probiotic C. norvegensis showed beneficial effects on ruminal fiber digestibility in situ. Also C. norvegensis contributed to the development of lambs as shown by the ADG and FC.
