Resumen

Art has the quality of being an excellent tool for the enhancement of human culture. Undoubtedly, the study and diffusion of past cultures enriches criterion and sensitivity into society. The musical work titled “Initial notes on Paquime”, conformed of three musical pieces written for chamber assemblage created from the study of Paquime’s Ruins of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. In representation of the instruments that were used by the paquimense culture, it has been chosen a solo tenor, a solo soprano, a percussionist and a soprano clarinet; on the other hand, a cello, a viola and a piano have added to the assemblage. Each piece, evokes and is named by one of the three phases under which the history of the city of Paquime has been clasified. First piece: Buena Fe Phase (germination and development), second piece: Paquime Phase (apogee), third piece: Diablo Phase (deterioration and abandonment of the city).
